SIGMASCOPE SMP350
The solution for electrical conductivity measurement
The SIGMASCOPE® SMP350 is a compact handheld device for measuring the electrical conductivity of non-ferrous metals. It quickly and accurately measures the electrical conductivity of aluminum or copper. From the measured conductivity, you can then draw further conclusions about the hardness and strength of heat-treated materials. This lets you monitor the material stability of components that are exposed to large temperature fluctuations. Even heat damage and material fatigue can be determined simply this way.
To measure the electrical conductivity, the device employs the phase sensitive eddy current method (according to DIN EN 2004-1 and ASTM E1004). This type of signal evaluation enables non-contact measurement, even under paint or plastic coatings up to 500 μm thick. It also minimizes the influence of surface roughness.
Features
- Non-destructive, precise measurement of the electrical conductivity of non-ferrous metals
- Measures according to DIN EN 2004-1 and ASTM E1004
- Used with probe FS40, the handheld device meets the Boeing specification BAC 5651
- High-resolution touchscreen display with virtual keyboard and user-friendly graphical user interface
- Various measurement frequencies for different penetration depths, from 15 kHz to 2 MHz, depending on the probe
- Operating temperature: 0 – 40 °C
- Measurement range: 0.3 – 63 MS/m or 0.5 – 108 % IACS
- Accuracy at room temperature: ± 0.5 % of the measured reading
- Takes into account the temperature coefficient of electrical conductivity valid for each individual material
- Automatic curvature compensation for known curvature diameters (down to the smallest diameter of 6 mm)
- Manual temperature input and monitoring of temperature change over time (ΔT/Δt)
- Enough memory for thousands of measuring applications and several thousand readings
- Certified reference standards (in MS/m, % IACS) – traceable to internationally recognized calibration standards

POROSCOPE
High-voltage holiday detector with the renowned quality of Fischer
To ensure thorough safeguarding against corrosion, the protective layers must be free of pores, cracks and embedded foreign bodies. This prevents aggressive substances from coming into contact with the carrier material. With Fischer’s holiday detectors, you can easily identify cracks in coatings made of electrically non-conductive materials. We offer three different models: POROSCOPE® HV5, POROSCOPE® HV20 and POROSCOPE® HV40. They offer a range of test voltages suitable for almost every coating thickness and every kind of coating material.
The pore testing is carried out by means of a constant DC voltage between 0.8 and 40 kV. But you’re at no risk of danger: Fischer high-voltage pore testers meet all the safety requirements of ISO 2746. In addition, these handheld devices are very robust – ideal for conducting inspections even under harsh conditions. Regardless of how challenging the application, you’re always properly equipped with Fischer holiday detectors.
