CEAST Model 9310

The Model 9310 instrument is used for the study of impact on films and laminates using the guided falling weight technique. This system can be equipped with instrumented strikers and DAS Junior or DAS 64K, as well as a wide range of darts that are available to test to standards including ISO, ASTM, BS, NF.

Features

The 9310 offers a maximum impact energy of 20.4 J (15.1 ft-lbs), a maximum impact speed of 3.7 m/s (12.1 ft/s), and a maximum falling height of 0.7 m (27.5 inches). This bench-type tester can be used with non-instrumented strikers for statistical control of materials impact resistance, as well as with instrumented tups and CEAST DAS 64K and DAS Junior Data Acquisition Systems. The falling crosshead is guided by twin calibrated steel columns and the impact energy is released directly through the specimen and its support system, giving maximum structural strength and minimum dynamic interference. The 9310 offers a specially designed clamping arrangement that allows both films and rigid sheets to be tested with the same fixture by easily reversing the clamping plates. Tups are available in different geometries in both instrumented and non-instrumented mode. The Standard machine can be equipped with the anti rebound system to allow for single impact or rebound tests.

CEAST 9340 Drop Tower Impact System

The CEAST 9340 is a floor standing impact system designed to deliver 0.30 - 405 J (0.22 - 299 ft-lb) of energy. The standard model includes basic instrumentation and a conveniently mounted machine controller that enables the operator to run the tower and collect basic data. For more in-depth data, the CEAST impact software and data acquisition system can be added. The CEAST 9340 is suitable for a range of impact applications including tensile impact, penetration tests on plates and films, Izod, and Charpy tests.

CEAST 9350 Drop Tower Impact System

The CEAST 9350 is a floor standing impact system designed to deliver 0.59 -757 J (0.44 - 558 ft-lb) or up to 1,800 J (1,330 ft-lbs) with optional high energy system. As the premier model in the CEAST 9300 line, this model includes many time-saving features and supports a large variety of options – from chambers to extra energy. The CEAST 9350 works with our impact software and data acquisition system to make analysis simple. This versatile instrument can be used to test anything from composites to finished products, and is suitable for a range of impact applications including tensile impact, puncture, Izod, and Charpy.
